Adolescence

Adolescence

Being a teenager is challenging. Profound neurological changes are occurring in the brain as identity is formed. Pressures at school, at home, with friends and in relationships can be overwhelming. Sometimes teens need help but don't know how to say it.

Therapy can provide a supportive outlet for teens to work though the journey of adolescence. It can improve family relationships and increase self esteem. By helping teens learn how and when to say yes or no, therapy helps teenagers learn to navigate themselves and the world.

Common signs that a teenager needs support

  • Depression
  • Suicidal Ideation or Attempts
  • Self-Harm (Cutting)
  • Food Refusal/Binging
  • Substance Abuse
  • Anxiety
  • Withdrawal/Isolation
  • Difficulty in Relationships with Peers/Parents
  • Bullying/Being a Victim of Bullying (including Cyber)
  • Anger/Aggression/Violence
  • Victim of Sexual Assault/Date Rape
